There may be something in what you say there. We have been through troubles like that, me and my other half. I had to shut the hell up for a bit. Ask questions, and allow whatever the hell came out to just fall out. Not interrupt. Not reply any more than to ask for a little clarification, or genuinely try to understand where they were coming from. I learnt a lot, so did they. They didn't realise they felt like that, and that thing was bothering them so much. Well, we progressed that way anyway. And they ended up in a space (eventually) where they could do the same for me and allow me that safe forum where it was ok to be me, and they genuinely wanted to understand where I was coming from even if it hurt. Good luck, but honestly looking at that message alone out of context I'd say you deserve better whether you believe it or not, and with your looks you would not find it difficult to find better either - if only you would lose the fear and simply ask for it...
