I Am Going Deaf

I lost my hearing the first time when I was 18. Fully deaf. I always thought deaf people can't hear anything. But it is surely not the case. Well not for me anyways. I would rather take that than the explosions of sound and constant ringing. I have a birth defect and eventually I will be deaf and hopefully when I do it will turn into the silence kind. The way it is now I randomly go deaf and I have constant tinnitus. It used to not be that bad until I went fully deaf again at 22. The last few months have been a struggle for me because though right now I'm not fully deaf, it's almost constant. My hearing effects my reading, writing and speech. With the problems in my and my husbands marriage he hasnt noticed and I havent told him.

You need to stay under the care of an audiologist, and if you don't know it already, learn sign language. I too am hearing impaired. I use special headphones when I speak on the phone, and I refuse to let it defeat me.
I'd also advise telling your husband what's happening to you.

@SW-User I have an audiologist. There really isn't anything they can do. They will give me tubes if I go a month fully deaf but that only last so long before we do it again and each time it is worse when they fall out it seems. The headphones aren't an option for me. My deafness is like being under water but the volume is really high. Not trying to sound like debbie downer lol. My husband knows I have the condition and I will eventually be deaf. I just dont tell him how often is or anything cause I dont want him to be stressed when there is nothing he can do.

Bless your heart.
Have you considered a cochlear implant?

@Somewhereovertherainbow I might ask my doctor about that in the future. I dont think it's an option right now because I'm not fully deaf.
@Lyinginwait i wish you all the best 🙂
