If there is no life after death, then what about justice? [Spirituality & Religion]

Would you like that? I don't! Our God is just!
DocSavage · M
Only an illusion.
If god were just, he wouldn’t need people to brown nose his son. He would judge them fairly on their merits.
So, we live in an ant farm that belongs to a jealous creator..but he loves us. He built this great place for us....

Later,
He thinks the ants are doing the right thing, so he sends his son? To die for 3 days...
That makes everything ok...but no...
We have to acknowledge that this sacrifice was exactly what we needed...

And if we don’t....this all loving and just god has a place for all of us to spend eternity.

I didn’t ask to be born. I am not an ant in a farm.
It’s against all odds that I am am actually sitting and typing this response at all...

If it is as the Bible states, we are all in hell anyway.

Why are we adding layers that aren’t there?
@Carazaa
Are you so forgiving really?
Yes. Why aren't you?
Your actions should be driven by care of others and not by an eternal reward.

We should respect and care for each other.@Carazaa

@Texasgurl You are so right.

I have a few problems with the concept of hell, one is that the line between victim and oppressor is often blurred and a cycle of violence only repeats the cycle. The idea of hell doesn't really redeem people nor gives them the chance to. Which I think is abusive in by itself. There's not just "victim" and there's not just "oppressor" because often times they are both and then of course you do have the plain evil people.

On other hand, I can rationalize justice in a non supernatural way if you must. There's this good video about karma not being something supernatural but something that is present with you for the rest of your life due to previous decisions you've made. It's basically the slow habitual destruction of yourself that is the karma and you don't need anything supernatural for it.

There doesn't have to be a hell to have justice, for instance take a robber. Most people think they got all that cash and got away so life is perfect right?

Well no... the reality is this wasn't their first bad decision. Most likely they been in and out of jail with routine bad decisions. They got away with that cash but now they will be forever looking over their shoulder, wondering if the person knocking on their door is an FBI agent.

They won't be able to spend it in the way they want to, it will be gone. They'll end up being caught when they do something else or the money is gone, they will have to go on to commit repeated crimes just to keep up with the money.

It is true what they say, there's no rest for the wicked and that's the irony of it.

What is shown in Hollywood is just smoke and mirrors. Just because a person goes out of their way to make sure you see as if their lives are perfect, doesn't mean there isn't a world of hurt inside them and that in turn they want to make others hurt. But see that's the hell part, they're already in it.

@Carazaa I also take up issue with the hierarchical nature of crimes regarding heaven. What makes people think they are guaranteed a spot in heaven with the mistakes they've made with this unforgiving God? What makes them feel they are for redemption but others cannot? Who determines this class based system of have and have nots?
Carazaa · F
@SatanBurger God determines who is forgiven and who isn't, not because of our actions but Jesus actions and our faith. None of us deserve heaven. We are all doomed. without Gods love. This is something only people who are saved understand. We understand how Holy God is and how we fall so short there is no way we can be close to god or his Holiness will kill us.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Carazaa Why even ask questions if you don't want to consider another narrative. Also if god determines who is forgiven and who is not, not because of our actions then there's no point in caring about heaven at all and there's no point in caring about your actions if the only action is total worship that counts and not your actions.

Solely because all it will come down to is if this god likes you or not. That's ultimately pretty terrible that not only people can be affected by environment but they don't have a chance to redeem themselves or have a better life than the one they were born into.

Sorry but Christianity is a crappy religion.

Justice is only really beneficial to society if it serves as an effective deterrent and/or contains the dangerous individual. Afterlife doesn't really fit either of those criteria because it's unverifiable to living people and it occurs after the point at which containment is meaningful.

If a person ends up in hell it’s their own doing, if a person ends up in Heaven It’s Gods doing.

Lol I wish I could trick myself into living in such a fantasy
Lol I’m fully aware of the teachings of the Bible. The problem is I believed none of it. @Carazaa
Carazaa · F
@MorbidCynic OK I am Writing because I care about people and God has helped me so much. But it is your choice to Believe what you want. No one died for the Worlds sins but Jesus, God in the flesh, because He loves us.

He says "No Eyes have seen, no ears have heard what God has prepared for those who love Him."

Life isn't fair and there's no cosmic scale balance at the end.

As for justice, isn't he'll for all eternity? That doesn't seem proportionate to the "crime" of sin.

There is life after life . Justice doesn’t exist it’s a word for people who don’t have enough money and power to be condemned
HatandCloak · 31-35, M
Justice is simply evil fighting evil. A politician is nothing but a criminal with enough money to hide who they really are. 😉
TheunderdogofNY · 36-40, M
I prefer Justice while people are alive when it matters most. Once I'm dead I'm dead. Whatever happens then will happen.
ShaythePanTransMan · 22-25, T
I believe in reincarnation, personally. It just sounds nice. I don’t put much thought into life after death.
Abbenthewarwolf · 18-21, M
Ther definitely is life after this physical life. For certain.
