Is it easy to follow Christ? [Spirituality & Religion]

What must you do to be saved? Can we just believe or what is the fruit, the evidence of a born again Christian? What does Christ mean when he says "believe"! Just accept Him as Lord? or is he also asking to leave everything behind and follow Him?

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

You can’t follow an imaginary person so
Zeusdelight · 61-69, M
@AnonymousJSS There is historical evidence of a Jesus Christ in the Roman records. So a person of that name existed.

@AnonymousJSS I am surprised you don’t know of that. If I thought you were interested I’d give you the reference.

For me, it is hard, because I was raised with different things. So I usually say “I’m torn between too many worlds.” I am a Roman Catholic, baptized... However, my father used to tell me stories about Native American beliefs and other spiritual practices, he used to keep feathers, and raised me with “if you find a penny on the ground with a shield on it, it’s lucky” statement. I’ve also been through some experiences that made me question my religion, as I was incredibly sensitive... So, I find it difficult to choose one religion... My father and mother proactively raised me to be open minded, and thoughtful...

@VictoriaR That is beautiful that you have your culture. Be proud!🤗

@Carazaa Thank you, but I’m not exactly sure if I’m very connected to my culture. I’m a bit of a mixed individual (not surprising, I think). My mother is a Maori, Tahitian, and Irish. My father was Native American, Polish, Scottish, and Irish. That I know of...

@VictoriaR But we can still be proud of our heritage whatever it is!

I came from Sweden on my Grandmas side going back to Vikings and I am proud of that but I still follow Jesus. He answers all my prayers. All of Sweden became Christian after Vikings 1200 AD and then God blessed them with every good thing for a thousand years. The most peaceful and equal country in the world. God will bless you if you follow Him I believe.

No, tis a narrow path, frought with many stones and thorn bushes; which is why so many choose the road to Hell, for it is wide and the way made smooth by the footsteps of many before them.

I never cared for highways myself.
I agree and I can relate. Sometimes its hard following the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

Not everyone one agrees the Divine Pasta 🍝

But I’m blessed by Divine Noodliness

Forsake all and follow him. The Bible says the devil believes and trembles... but he can’t be like Jesus. We are called to be like Jesus. He is our example.. All things become new... old things have passed away!

@SW-UserPraise God for that! Thank you!

It's unbelievably hard. I accepted Jesus as my Savior just a couple of months ago, and turning away from the life of sin, changing your heart, making it pure again... It's hard. Christians need to stop telling the non-believers that following Christ will always make them happy. Well, sometimes it will not. Sometimes it will make you hate yourself and be sorry for yourself.

I know this phase will eventually end; our Lord Jesus will purify my heart. But it's not easy.

Come to Him all ye who are heavy burdened for His yolk is light

No but He's worth every step.

@GodSpeed63 Thank you! Yes He is, no doubt! Praise God!

Unfortunately it’s to easy to be a sheep and follow , than to be a lion and learn to survive on one’s own experiences and mistakes
