Go Pray [Spirituality & Religion]

I feel like "some people" who go to Church and worship the Lord are mentally lazy.The reason why I say this is because when someone ask for advice, the first thing that comes out of some peoples mouth is go pray or read this scripture.I feel like they are mentally lazy and not considering the fact that not everyone is religious.Those who are religious and don't throw their religion or the go pray saying to others but actually used their brain to help I feel are the best.Beforr you start using the go pray or read thus scripture make sure that the person you are talking to is religious themselves,if not then don't force your religion on them unless they give you the okay.
I see where you're coming from, but disagree for these reasons. There's nothing wrong with people stating their beliefs in this forum on any subject. Your criticism, however, singles out some who go to church. Most of us express our views. But only when church goers offer it, is it called “pushing beliefs on others.” What about those on here who have nothing to do with church, yet offer helpful advice? Are they singled out, because of their lifestyle or preferences? People can take it or leave the advise. It has nothing to do with affiliation. It's just people trying to give helpful advice, no matter who it is. Naturally, they're going to offer what they feel is the most helpful, churchgoers or not. They're offering and sharing, not forcing. Vocalizing beliefs is not unique to Christians. Everyone spreads their beliefs, and have that right. They communicate how they feel to others. They don't need an okay before they share. Labeling some churchgoers as being mentally lazy, is unfounded and judgmental.

You have a point there even though at times I feel like those who say go pray or read this take the easy way out.But you're right at least they are trying.Thank you Lady Grace <3
@OpalFlower But you must also look at their point of view. In their opinion, they are not trying to take the easy way out. They believe it helps. But I see your point. Aside from the subject of this post, I am not in favor of people pushing their beliefs on anyone. Some have accused me of that, however, there is a huge difference between sharing and pushing beliefs. We all have a right to share. Carry on. 😂😂🌷🤗

@OpalFlower I think the point is that it's not relevant whether someone is a churchgoer or not. The Bible still applies. If there is merit to prayer and scripture, then it stands on its own regardless of the church or non-church status of anyone. That said - LadyGrace is right - no one should push their religion on others. But that doesn't happen as often as someone bringing up an issue which has relevance in faith - and it's wrong to demand a "nonreligious" answer.
The laziness comes in not addressing the issue -- rather than just pointing to scripture, if one is not ready to discuss the issue first.

Kinda well put, but the main reason it's mentally lazy is that they don't explain their thoughts themselves, then refer to scripture. The only part I disagree with is that you have to find out if the other person is religious... no... not really... that wouldn't matter. If praying and scripture are appropriate - then someone's religiosity or lack thereof is not relevant. At all. The advice stands on its own merits.
... that said... as an initial response, you're right - it's mentally lazy.

@SW-User Exactly my point.And I actually prefer someone who uses their own mind,thoughts,and experiences to help.Like the saying goes to each their own. But honestly by asking the person if they are religious saves a whole lot of talk or time because the person who isn't religious may not bother with what the religious person say.

@StevenIzzi honestly...it does NOT matter WHAT the subject is you can count on the males to make it sexual. Are their brains in their Hanes?

Either way it goes, I don't think it's best to give out advice sometimes. But i see what you mean.

Well maybe you shouldn't ask them for advice. Knowing the ones you are asking will tell you that don't get offended because they say that to you. And again your attitude towards them thinking but not knowing. that they are calling you lazy. Paranoia? ALL at NOT THE Same. If you are not Christian and your attitude towards religions seem hateful. Don't ask them!!!!seek advice elsewhere, just letting yyou what I precived from this post. Blessing 😇

This. I can't stand those type of people and they are the ones who don't keep their religion prevalent at home.
OpalFlower · 31-35, F
@Chickie Having theur religion prevalent at home to be honest isn't even good because not everyone in the home practices the same religion so when someone enforces at the home space onto others that is when problems start.
@Chickie Wow! That sounds judgmental.
Well said. I agree.
