I Try To Be Careful With The Way I Word Things

at my new workplace i realized today more things about people in my group. the elderly guy who i thought was malicious seemed to be ok nice instead. i learned about other people s political view, which was contradictory to mine but i kept silent; i realize it s no use confronting them and it risks my job. there s a project that here we do with the previous company i worked in and my senior here told me that she disliked my previous company a lot due to the poor performance of my ex colleagues. a colleague here told me that she was so pissed off when she knew the new staff (me) was from that notorious office before i came.

but i m not scared of the above situation. all i know is to be careful, and to keep reminding myself to be careful, with everything i say and do. i want to stay here and get a permanent contract, a very safe and secure job with hardly any overtime work. i need it for myself for a living and my health, and for my family (mother and brother) who are jobless. be humble, hide your splendour, follow the procedures correctly, be plain, then i shall be fine :) finally i guess i have got some clues to dealing with colleagues. with experience from confronting bullies in previous companies and now in a place where political correctness is the fundamental and ultimate job duty, my advice to everyone is: first learn to speak up, then learn to shut up.

This made me smile. 'Learn to speak up, then shut up' - how true. Conformity behaviour is the norm here in Asia I see 馃槅. But for things that cross my red line I will no doubt speak my mind whether it is politically correct or not. Good luck in your new job.
