I Am Always Thinking and Thinking

I'm watching a documentary on polygamy and whether or not it's real.

I think I do believe it's real because there are all kinds of people. I genuinely believe there are people who are totally fine with an open relationship and are happiest that way. However I believe this is a very very small minority of people.

I think the majority of people who are currently in an open relationship are not true polygamists and that there are two types of false polygamists. There's the type that just want to be able to hook up with as many people as possible and still have someone they can call a girlfriend or boyfriend and not have them get mad. You can tell they are not true polygamists because if their partner tries to do the same, they get upset and jealous. (These people are scum. I want to be able to hook up with whoever I want but you aren't allowed to do the same) Then there is the other type of false polygamist who is in an open relationship because it was either that or not be able to be with the person they liked at all. They are basically pressured into it and aren't really happy but put up with it because they love their partner.

The true polygamist is comfortable with multiple partners and is also comfortable with their partners having multiple partners. Again, I definitely believe they exist I don't think it's even a question, I just think that there are very very few true polygamists.

If anyone here has been in an open relationship feel free to comment and expand my knowledge :)

IMHO I think you may be confusing the traits of "Polygamy/Polyandry/Polygyny relationships" with the traits of "Open relationships"

IE.. Poly relationships are typically "closed" (steady partners). Open relationships = Open to anything/anybody
