'They will behead us': Afghans who helped American troops now fear for their lives

As the United States approaches the Sept. 11 deadline for pulling American troops from Afghanistan, advocates increasingly warn that some 18,000 locals who helped U.S.-led forces will be hunted down by vengeful Taliban.

"These people will have a bullseye and a target on their back from the moment we leave the country," Rep. Michael McCaul said Monday at a hearing of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

In the past six years, the Texas Republican said, 300 Afghans have been killed in retribution for working with U.S. forces. "If we abandon them, we are signing their death warrants."

Meanwhile, Biden is deciding on his favorite flavor of ice cream and allowing anybody and everybody flood the southern border.

The Biden Administration - What a bunch of cold hearted, self serving ass holes.

Trump: I’m pulling our troops from the Middle East.
Republicans: yeah! Let them kill each other…none of our business anyway!

Biden: I’m pulling out troops from the Middle East.
Republicans: You cold hearted bastard leaving them defenseless like that!

So, while you are picking your nose looking for wisdom,
what shall we do for these people?

If you want to you can go on my profile I made a post earlier today about a donation to help Afghan children @Budwick

@SW-User Good for you!
Now, what about the people mentioned in this post?
SW-User
there’s bleak hope for these people and really no good solution maybe Russian troops will protect them @Budwick
Budwick · 70-79, M
@SW-User Unicef, eh?

A cabinet minister in the UK has described the Unicef’s effort to fund a school project in London to feed hungry children hit by the Covid-19 pandemic as a “scandal” and a “political stunt”.

Oct. 4, 2005

In the worst scandal in its history, the U.N. Children's Fund (UNICEF) disclosed Thursday that 24 employees in its Kenya office stole or squandered $10-million.

@SW-User
really no good solution
What if we flew them them to Tijuana so they could cross into America!?
SW-User
@Budwick these donations go directly to a clinic in Kabul unicef is the group who supplied this guy with his translator and armored car to visit the area
SW-User
you Know that might just work @Budwick
Budwick · 70-79, M
@SW-User Great. I hope it goes down that way.
Just sayin, the UN has a history of not following through.

And again, what about the people in the post?
SW-User
Well I liked your idea about flying them to Mexico for them to cross the border but unfortunately most of these people have pride in their homeland and don’t want to leave it behind. They are in real danger @Budwick
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@SW-User How can you defend a hypocritical stance by pointing at another one? That's like shooting someone and defending yourself in court that you aren't the first murderer.
SW-User
When was I defending did you not read my last sentence @Kwek00
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@SW-User I did read your last sentence, if you don't write it in defense then it doesn't make any sense at all. Budwick here has supported the last guy in charge all the way. And last president said repeatedly that he would pull the troops back, that was the plan, and Budwick was super okay with all of that. But now that someone else is in charge, apperently Budwicks' mind has suddenly changed. On a lot of toppics btw, it's not just this one. It's as if Budwick suddenly has an entire totally diffrence stance on a lot of stuff, so does the ex-president. And when someone calls him out for that, your remark is too talk about the opposition and that they are hypocrits too as if that makes the behavior any less repulsive.
SW-User
The difference being trump left troops to police it seems you want to target budwick but I see the same behavior from many leftist on this site. For four years the were against things they all of a sudden don’t care about the fact you try to make this one sided shows ignorance @Kwek00
Spotpot · 41-45, M
@Kwek00 Exactly its Trumpian style hypocricy.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@SW-User If Budwick was on the other side of the fence, I would call him out too. I really don't care what tribe you are in. But Budwick here has been an extreme pro-Trump guy all the way, but right now his posts have become increasingly more disgusting because of it's inconsistency. He's just a propaganda mouthpiece out here, and as dishonest as they come.

@Budwick But this is a policy descision that 2 candidates ran on. Obama and Trump both promised to bring troops home. I'm not sure what Bidens' stance was on this, but the previous ones were all for it.

And when a lot of left leaning people were upset with Trumps' descision to bring back the troops that worked with the Kurds in the operations concerning ISIS and Syria, I said that Tump promised to bring the troops home and if he promised that to the American people, then as a policy descision that is defendable. Even if it has consequences like leaving their alies alone, destroying credibility and loosing influence in the region. This is just something what the American people voted for and the elected president did it.

If Biden had a similair stance, then no matter what I think that will happen to the situation out there, if that is what a big majority of US citizens want then he he as a basis of doing just that Budwick. The consequences, just like the consequences surrounding the Kurds well... that's for the nation to bear. Descisions have consequences, the unitd states has to live with theirs.

I honestly also wonder what the sollution is for the US in Afghanistan? What ever the descision will be, it will always be a bad one because I don't see a good ending over there. Mainly because 3 presidents ago, someone stepped into a war without a plan.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@Kwek00 Four paragraphs - no answer.
Thanks Sqeek
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@Budwick My answer is that this is a policy descision Budwick. A lot of Americans wanted this, now someone is going to make it happen... suddenly, of all the people on this platform, you have concerns for consequences that you didn't have last year. Because you are a dishonest fuck. I'm pretty sure that if I go back to those days that Trump withdrawed the troops around the Kurds, you didn't give a fuck about them. But now that Biden is in charge, suddenly the Afghans are super important to you. Just learn to be consistent, that's what I'm trying to do.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@Kwek00
My answer is that this is a policy descision
So, what's the 'policy' regarding leaving locals that helped the USA behind to likely face death? What page is that on?
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@Budwick The same page that it was on when Donald Trump decided to leave the Kurds on their own 🤷‍♂️. Last year it was "America First" and now suddenly we are becomming aware of all the consequences of the wishes of a whole lot of American voters. Last year you didn't care, today you are mother Theresa.

If you really care that much Budwick, then help the people that are likely to be afraid of their lifes. They'll have an asylum/refugee status really quickly enough. And take these people home to the US. They have been your allies for year in a tough system. Take them with you and care for them.
