Avid readers out there?
What are your favorite books? I personally like the books by Neil Gaiman.

1. [b]Last Days by Brian Evenson[/b]... actually writes a lot of varied stuff but mostly in the realm of weird fiction.
For instance, his book [b]Immobility[/b] is about a guy who wakes up not knowing where he is but is being dragged by two men in an apocalypse.
While this book, Last Days is about a detective who gets dragged into a cult called the Brotherhood of Mutilation which is a cult of amputees.
It's kind of a blend of hard-boiled detective mixed with dark humor and a touch of the noir genre.
2. [b]The Crooked God Machine by Autumn Christian[/b]
Is the only book I read of this author but it's probably one of my favorites on this list. It's really good. About an dystopian reality in which a god rules over a planet with violence and the main character falls in love. Starts questioning and then goes to find her when she's lost.
The book broke my heart but it's really good.
3. [b]Quicksand House by Carlton Mellick III[/b]
One of my favorite authors, about two kids who have never ventured outside of their daycare due to being taken care of by robot nannies. When the robot breaks down they have to venture out in order to save themselves. Really good story, I highly recommend all his books but some of them are weird and written quite well.
4. [b]Murderland by Garrett Cook[/b]
An alternate reality where serial killing has become legal and a sport similar to baseball. The main character is ironically the world's biggest serial killer but only does it because he's fed up. There's an alternate plot going on with other dimensional beings too, it's pretty good.

6. [b]The entire Discworld series by Terry Pratchett[/b]

Love, love Gaiman. Neverwhere is among my favorites.
