Do you feel that Trump's downplaying of Kim Jong Un's short range ballistic missile launches was a form of long term diplomacy?

Or, like Joe Biden, would you slam the door in Kim Jong Un's face by stating that anyone, (Trump), who takes Kim Jong Un's part against John Bolton and against International law is un-American?

Before you ask, I can't find a link anywhere to what Biden said.
Scare mongering is just a way to get America's client states in the region to comply.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow My bad on the martial law statement. It ended in 1987. But was until very recently the longest period of martial law in history.
@katielass My point is a country that until relatively recently was a literal armed camp is not exactly what I would consider a good example.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I have. Hundreds of thousands of manufacturing jobs have come home. And they're still coming.

They're trying to keep bide hidden, just like hitlery's people did. Seems every time either of them opens their mouth their numbers go down. lol

Ever heard of good cop bad cop?

@4meAndyou Yes, I read an article online about how the media is questioning why he's in hiding. Duh, they have to ask???? He really is low IQ. lol

@katielass Kim Jong Un certainly seems to think so...😂

@4meAndyou I bet he does. lol Trump's foreign policy is probably the best one we've seen in decades. We have a treaty that keeps us in the neighborhood so our presence there is not negotiable. Beyond that, diplomacy as far as it goes and then drop the bomb. Not a literal bomb.

I think Trump is trying to deescalate tensions and denuclearize N.K. He is trying to talk face to face with the guy. Calling him names is not helping. The US has spent 69 years at war with North Korea, we have tried stonewalling, refusing to talk to them, being blackmailed into giving them nuclear technology and equipment (Clinton) in return for them not weaponizing it (how did that turn out?) Biden's administration did nothing to slow down their weapon development and work on long range missiles capable of carry those weapons. In fact they developed and test fired some that can reach the US.

There have been no long range tests since Trump opened dialogue. That is more then Clinton, Bush II, or Obama/Biden accomplished. In fact the N.K's first failed nuke test was in 2006 and all subsequent successful nuke and long range missile tests were under Obama/Biden's watch. What they did for their 8 years accomplished NOTHING.

I don't know what will happen. I don't trust the N.K.'s However since 1954 there has been a steady buildup of military forces in N.K. and nuclear weapons...under everybody's watch. Accelerated since the end of the cold war left the N.K's feeling naked not trusting the USSR's umbrella.

So far there has been no escalation of nuclear or long range tests. I don't have a lot of hope for bringing N.K. into the fold of civilized nations short of all out war. I do know that what everyone has tried for some 69 years has not worked. We know the "Biden Way" didn't work. I hope Trump does better. So far he has.
No, as a veteran, I do not think that. What I believe is Kim is in the same class of uniqueness of Yo-Yo Ma, the cellist, because Kim is playing Trump "Flawlessly". I voted for Trump, but often ask myself, "WTF" is with this guy? I side with Bolton. And his nod to Kim on the vile "IQ" remark about Biden...is inexcusable. I classify Trump's nod to what I would often say about Obama, and that in this instance he has the decorum of an alley cat rummaging through a garbage dumpster looking for fish bones!
Every administration had a geopolitical agenda, as I stated, making strange bedfellows. Kim has played Trump like a puppet...pulling his strings. He's being played like a fool. Kim is a maniac. They still poke Trump with their recent test firings (an attempt to get him to re-negotiate). Kim will stick it up Trump's ass in a heartbeat. You say it yourself "I don't trust the NK's". Trump IMO is going to wake up one morning to a horrific news flash that the Koreas are at war or they fired on Japan or Guam. I'll say this...yes, Trump went face to face with Kim, but it's bound to fail. North Korea's objective is now and has been since the end of WW2 to reunify the country, and IMB they are not hesitating to make their move; unless China reins them in...which I doubt.
