A balanced viewpoint on Trump

I thought I’d create an opportunity for all those with a negative view on Trump to try to present a balanced opinion on him. All these hateful messages will never get anyone to change their mind, so if you post something, try and think of something positive to post and something negative, just one of each, with no name calling!

During his campaign he showed he was very adept at winning over neglected voters. To his and his campaign manager's credit, they were able to identify and promote ideas that motivated supporters to get to the polls. It's unfortunate that he turned out to be about what I expected.

@Chrisy1 I don't think it will happen with our current administration. The gross level of misinformation and ignorance I've run into on this subject has been staggering. Trump is just like us in that respect.
Chrisy1 · 18-21, F
A lot of people need to be absolutely convinced prior to taking action, hopefully people will change over time, hopefully not too much time!! @Wendy33

My problem is not so much with Trump. Could he do a better job, hell yes, but so could congress. There is too much time and money spent fighting between parties. Congress has wasted time and fortunes trying to knock Trump out of his position when they should be trying to HELP the damn country. All of them, Trump included, are like a bunch spoiled children doing crap just to spite each other. If Trump came up with a magic energy ball that cost $1.00 and could power a city for a decade congress would block its production just because HE came up with it. It's all bullshit! The country is circling the bowl and all anyone is doing is trying to blame somebody else for flushing it. I don't care what your position, president, congress, senate, whatever... HELP THE PEOPLE OR GET THE HELL OUT OF OFFICE!

I love your answer - full of passion and belief 👍@OwnerOfMany

If nothing else, Trump has exposed the left for the corrupt, bigoted, hatemongers that they always have been and denied for so long. They now publicly slander the president only to see the facts fall (as usual) on the side of the president. He's brash, he uses rough language, he doesn't take any crap, and he doesn't allow libs to run amuck in his presence. Given his long list of accomplishments, it is clear he is the right man , at the right time, in the right place to stem the tide of socialism and to reestablish the rule of law and save the constitutional republic of the United States of America.

I´m not an US citizen and I don´t live there, so my opinions ar as valid as the ones that everyone may have about a public figure.

The best I may say about Donald is that he is there because of the votes of a significative part of the electors.

In the other hand...

There is an old saying: That people have the government they deserve.

As I have a high respect for the US people, I´ll never agree with that expression.

@CharlieZ As usual your kindness is just
ASTOUNDING

heh...😝

@Platoscave Thank you, my friend.....
hmmmmmm..................🤔🤣

Have you heard the expression: "Iron hand in a velvet glove"?
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
He is very good at not upsetting those that honor him. He knows what his followers value and he presses the right buttons to keep them happy.

When he became president, the economy was trending upwards and I’m happy to see him push it further. I’m all in favor of continual improvement.

You asked that we don’t resort to name calling here and that’s good because it is childish. I just want our President to stop it too.
Chrisy1 · 18-21, F
Another really good answer 👍 thanks Tracie @SimplyTracie

I like Trump.
I understand he can be brash, but I think that's one of the things I like!
He works tirelessly to stay on his agenda.
He fights back against those that 'resist' his agenda.
He doesn't back down.
He is exactly what America needed.
He'll be a tough act to follow.
A politician that tries to do as promised..
I can see how it’s a shock to ppls systems.. been conditioned and all that the status quo and shit sammiches are as good as it gets 😁👌
Chrisy1 · 18-21, F
I respect your first line, but am not sure what you’re trying to say in the rest of your statement!?@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout @Chrisy1 He eats Vegemite sandwiches, shit might be the nickname for them. 😁
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
For people of a progressive mindset, there is nothing at all positive about Trump. If you asked a Liberal to write a list of negative attributes for the worst President imaginable, then exaggerate it, that would be Trump.

What I don't like are all the insults against the character of Trump supporters. It makes a lot of assumptions and people vote for different reasons. Either way, insults never persuaded anybody. To do that, you need to have a real conversation.

@Burnley123 Hard at this point when their support is what fuels the monster and his Republican enablers. We're seeing the rule of law mocked and cheered.
Chrisy1 · 18-21, F
I agree whole heartedly on your point that insults never persuaded anyone- if anything it simply entrenches their position.@Burnley123
Chrisy1 · 18-21, F
With all due respect, and I do respect your opinion, you could perhaps state a specific instance where you feel the rule of law has been mocked and cheered to back up your point, otherwise it’s a general statement that people may struggle to support as they have no specific reference to your point. @SW-User
MrAboo · 36-40, M
He’s a great President and I’m voting for him in 2020
Chrisy1 · 18-21, F
Good on you, I respect your opinion 👍@MrAboo
MrAboo · 36-40, M
Thank you. I’ll do my best to return the favor.
I’m at a point where I couldn’t care less about changing minds. Trump is basically a white supremacist. They know he represents their viewpoint. There are still some others who will kiss his rear in the hopes that he will throw them some crumbs, who “go along to get along”, but I have no respect for him or for his apologists.
He speaks his mind.
The others go by a script that is carefully prepared.
Chrisy1 · 18-21, F
I like your response, it feels nicely balanced 👍@Robynthebeautiful
Unlike other politicians in the past, Trump really does seem to be trying to change American Government.

That's a positive, until you look at how and why he's trying to change it, IMO.
akindheart · 61-69, F
he is far from perfect-the dems made sure we saw that but he has done an amazing job.
JP1119 · 36-40, M
Those who have paid attention to my political comments know that most of my thoughts on Trump are negative, so I’ll balance that here by saying kudos to him for advocating for expanded background checks when purchasing firearms. Let it not be said that I don’t give credit where credit is due.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@JP1119 Didn’t he say the same thing almost two years ago after the Parkland shootings?
JP1119 · 36-40, M
@SimplyTracie I think I heard recently that he did, but I don’t remember hearing about it at the time. After the Las Vegas concert shooting I remember him saying we just needed more bullets going the other way ☹️
Platoscave · F
Here's some balance. He's a madman and in charge of the fate of the world. If he finds that special Presidents Analyst in time we might or might not have a fighting chance for survival at this point. If ALL fossil fuel emissions stop this second...the mutilated climate will still destroy most life on earth very soon. But we still have to act as if our goodness mattered.
And also if we don't get sane about the dangers of nuclear power, we can love our dogs and children all day and still have to kiss our collective ass goombye...very soon. Don't mean to preach or anything though...
SW-User
I like my Presidents to ignore the law so he’s my guy. Only elitists follow the law.
Chrisy1 · 18-21, F
What specific element of law do you refer to? Without a specific reference it’s difficult to take any meaning from your answer. No disrespect intended.@SW-User

@SW-User Trump is a genius ... his IQ is amazing . You however are acting like a petty name calling lib that has a big pink p*ssy Hat in the closet
SW-User
he should be impeached and he is inciting violence.
SW-User
@TexChik He has done obstruction of justice. The economy is so bad and we are going to have a recession soon.
@SW-User no wait.. it’s the Russians 😁
