Election reform?

This one I think is something both sides can agree on. We do need to reform the way we run our elections. But sadly because the two major parties hold all the power, it's probably one of the hardest possible changes to make.

What reforms do you think are necessary?

Thank you :) but ... Silly question... Isn't democracy typically about majority rules? The way I see it is that the electoral college by nature means a two party system. Which in turn moves towards deep polarization, when the one always will try to undo what the other does... No possibilities of compromise, always red vs blue. Multi party coalition governments typically show significantly more stable development over government terms

All donor money known (abolish "dark money" PACs). No political party affiliations listed on the ballot. More business done via the internet so they have to spend more time around their constituents than DC lobbyists.

Limits how many years you can serve in Congress. 10 years in the House, 12 in the Senate. I'm fine with less.

@DelicateKrystal Absolutely! I'd be okay with extra elections to flip Senate terms to 3 years as well. I do like that 1/3 of the Senate is up at a time.

@St0ut Wouldn't say I want to. Heck, if I had my actual way they'd probably be better represented. But that ain't gonna happen, and if present demographic trends keep up they're going to turn purple anyway, so it may not matter.

If your aim to to remove the bias in favour of the major parties, then you need to make campaign funding a level playing field. Then you need to make voting compulsery to force everyone to turn up. That spreads the vote more evenly.
