why do people who are for the wall along the Souther border focus so much on S. America when a majority of illegal immigrants are from Canada?

https://www.google.com/amp/s/nationalpost.com/news/world/northern-aliens-around-100000-canadians-live-under-the-radar-in-u-s-as-illegal-immigrants/amp

Is it because of xenophobia that these border wall supporters have for people of brown skin who speak Spanish?

We refer to Florida as 'Canada South'. Best keep us and our money out!
Synyster51-55, M
@PrivatePeeks Those stats in the National Post are fake news. I'm sure there's lots of illegal immigrants from Canada as much as illegal Americans here in Canada.
PrivatePeeks26-30, F
@Synyster US census figures indicate those of Latin descent are the fastest growing population.
Synyster51-55, M
@PrivatePeeks Doesn't surprise me at all.
daisymay51-55, T
It's because the majority of them believe that only white illegal immigration occurs over the northern border, and they don't care about that.

They're bigots, not xenophobes.

@daisymay Did I read this wrong?

It's because the majority of them believe that only white illegal immigration occurs over the northern border, and they don't care about that.

@Synyster Apparently. Try reading it as it was written; an answer to the question at the top of the page.

It's a major part of deciphering who "the majority of them" refers to.
Synyster51-55, M
@daisymay My mistake, sorry.

I think Canadians can live in US without any proper visa unlike any other country. Even, Canadian medical licence is also accepted in US but they don't accept it from any other country. So Canadian living in US or vice versa, is like Germans moving to France. Also, both countries are developed. Illegal immigrants happen nornally from developing or underdeveloping countries who move to developed country for economic benifit or oppertunities.

The fact is, no one really knows how many illegal immigrants we have in the US, and where they come from. We can guesstimate, but in some cities, most illegals seem to be come through airports and other legal ports of entry, and overstay their visas. That's the case where I live, given that the tech-based economy and the majority foreign born composition of the workforce, who bring their extended families in for "visits".

@SW-User I don't doubt there's a lot, but those numbers are probably wrong.

And say they are right, deport them,Canadian or not.
Synyster51-55, M
@LvChris every is fake news. Lol
Jackaloftheazuresand26-30, M
Probably because the southerners are hopping the border while the Canucks are overstaying.

and this from your very article
"like Mexico, which has an estimated 5.8 million illegals in the U.S" so what are you talking about majority?
SW-User
@Jackaloftheazuresand

Did you know there are these awesome things called planes and boats that people can get on to get to the United States?

Did you also know there is this thing called a visa? People can enter into the country legally and can overstay on them too.

Oh, and did you know there is this wonderful thing called the port of entry, where people can come and go from the U.S./Mexico border? And that can鈥檛 be closed down by some wall.

And these are reasons why a wall wouldn鈥檛 work.
Jackaloftheazuresand26-30, M
@SW-User okay you aren't listening to me, you just want to 1-up have fun being ignorant
a wall is an obstacle no matter how one thinks
I did listen to you and provided a reason why it a wall wouldn鈥檛 be an obstacle.
Okay, you aren鈥檛 listening to me
I guess by listening to you means blindly agreeing with you.
Dont forget the European ones that flood the airports every day
Dolimyte41-45, M
Uh, yeah. It's pretty fucking obvious.
sunsporter164970-79, M
But we already have a wall separating the US from Canada.
SW-User
@sunsporter1649 Snow melts...And I remember seeing this picture online from a few years ago.

Oh, now I remember, that picture is from the website called Whistler Glacier Tours: Scenery, Snow and Sliding. That wall of snow was taken 6 years ago and is located on Whistler Moutain in Canada. Nice try.
Tres1351-55, M
that will be part 2. Wall #2 after 2020
SW-User
@Tres13 Lol, both walls would be abandoned before they were completed. I don't think wall supporters understand that another president elect could simply end the construction of Trump's wall after Trump leaves office (if he has a second term that is).
