why do people who are for the wall along the Souther border focus so much on S. America when a majority of illegal immigrants are from Canada?

https://www.google.com/amp/s/nationalpost.com/news/world/northern-aliens-around-100000-canadians-live-under-the-radar-in-u-s-as-illegal-immigrants/amp

Is it because of xenophobia that these border wall supporters have for people of brown skin who speak Spanish?

Probably because the southerners are hopping the border while the Canucks are overstaying.

and this from your very article
"like Mexico, which has an estimated 5.8 million illegals in the U.S" so what are you talking about majority?

But when the U.S. Department of Homeland Security published its first report last year on people who overstayed their legally permitted time in the country, Canadians led all other nationalities.

@SW-User in overstays, do you genuinely not understand how that is different?

When a person overstays their visa, do they become an illegal immigrant. Why else must they Keep a low profile if they don’t want to be caught and deported?

Here is another quote from a different source

“With illegal immigration being a hot news topic for the past years, many people may ask if overstaying a valid visa is against the law. In short, the answer is yes.

“Whenever a foreign national enters the United States on a visa, or using a waiver program, the foreigner is given a specific date by which he or she must leave the country. Depending on the visa, this time may be short or long. For example, visitors who are simply tourists or are seasonal workers may only be allowed to legally stay in the country for a few months. For other foreigners, such as students or non-seasonal workers, the visa length may be several years. No matter how long you are allowed to stay, once your date of departure passes and you have not left the country, you are in the U.S. illegally.”

@SW-User but the southern illegals still outnumber them overall, we aren't debating who is illegal. The southern border has a bigger problem than the northern border. Then the northerners are coming legally which means the wall supporters aren't going to talk about that because a wall isn't for that, a wall is an obstacle for illegal crossing.

I disagree

@SW-User You can challenge the efficiency, I don't really care about that but a wall is an obstacle no matter what anyone thinks. A log is an obstacle, mud is an obstacle

Did you know there are these awesome things called planes and boats that people can get on to get to the United States?

Did you also know there is this thing called a visa? People can enter into the country legally and can overstay on them too.

Oh, and did you know there is this wonderful thing called the port of entry, where people can come and go from the U.S./Mexico border? And that can’t be closed down by some wall.

And these are reasons why a wall wouldn’t work.

I did listen to you and provided a reason why it a wall wouldn’t be an obstacle.

I guess by listening to you means blindly agreeing with you.
