Brexit the shambles rolls on

SO here we are the democratic vote in Parliament and the Tories decide to scrap the vote because they were going to lose the vote, so much for democracy in OUR country.

This is yet again the Tories saying we want democracy but ONLY if we like it.

Not ONLY this but May cancelled the leaders debate so she didn't have to face the Labour leader but more importantly the people she's meant to represent.

To me if you cant face the people or be held to question by the people you shouldn't be leader let alone the PM.

This is time for a GE

They are desperate, that's why. They see that the whole Brexit thing is crazy, and they initiated it, and now they know no way out of this madness. I can only hope the British people will stop this madness soon.
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@helenS it was all about ideology which could never be delivered.
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@helenS Not until the Toris start acting like a democracy and not like a dictatorship and the party before the country and the people.
bhatjc · 46-50, M
@helenS Sounds like us in the states. getting suck with no way out

I couldn't agree more. This '0Government' is the most incompetent and shambolic I can remember and they have really messed things up for the country; with greater damage to come through.

A word of warning though; A GE probably won't solve the Brexit crisis either. The Tories have wasted two years doing nothing and its really late in the day for a new Government to negotiate a deal. The EU has all the power and Corbyn may be able to change some things but not a lot. I say this as a Corbynista and as a Labour Party member.

We need a general election and also another referendum. I know there are problems with this too but all the options are bad.
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@Burnley123 OOOPSSSS yes in contempt of Parliament.

I know but that would force a referendum or GE.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@milkymum1 The Government already got voted in contempt of Parliament by refusing to release legal info about the backstop before the vote. The Fixed-Term Parliament act means that two-thirds of MPs must vote for a GE. That happened in 2017. The Tories don't want that but like I say there is no obvious way for them to get out of this mess and something will have to give. There are four things that could happen:

1) MPs vote through May's deal.
2) GE
3) 2nd Ref
4) No-deal Brexit

Each one of these is 'impossible' but one of them will have to happen.
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@Burnley123 Oh yes they did didn't they.

Yes that is the only way out of a Tory made mess

I think its now down to the opposition parties and the Tories who have a conscious.
JJKale · 56-60, M
Think you may find that it was the democarcy that chose to leave the EU. The Tories just happen to be in government and up until they started to implode the Labour party also supported brexit.

EU is scarmongering and highlighting why people chose to leave with their you will do as we say attitude. Once the UK leaves there will be other countries that will follow as they too are fed up with the Federalist Germans.

On the other had you have the milenials who have never had to do much as they get everthing given to them.....read soundbite information and spout shite

I don't particularly like the Tories but I do admire Theresa May's staying power when all the backstabbers, bleaters and posh twats have failed to get rid of her. She did not even vote for brexit! but is taking her resonsibility seriously.
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@JJKale yes it was sort of democracy

the tories dont just happen to be in power they broguth the whole problem on

EU ahve stuck to what they have said from the very begining the problem all lies with the UK parliment and the Tories

a lot of other EU countries wont leave as they see the absolute mess dissorder the uk is in

thats all down to the uk government giving everythign to anyone without paying into the system

i just wish she had a back bone and stood up to certion people in her party as she has no control over any of them just look how many just recently should be out of jobs
joesecret · 56-60, M
i agree with you people voted out so out it is .Im been called a racialist dumb dont no what i voted all the other things aswell all i want is a closed border to stop bad people coming into country.
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@joesecret yes it is, but as usual with the government they go after the easy targets and not the real ones who should be deported
joesecret · 56-60, M
true there put the british people second best in this country.
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@joesecret sometimes yes but sometimes we bring it on ourselves
liondog · 51-55, M
The whole thing has been a complete and utter shambles from the start.

As I understand it the referendum vote isn't legally binding and after a ECJ court ruling the UK could unilaterally cancel Brexit, without getting the permission of other EU countries first.
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@liondog Yes it has.

That's how I understood it to its a recommendation to the government.

yes we have to hold another referendum and not just say we want to stay we have to prove it.
Certainly needs some drastic action
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@johnbgood We cant even have fighter planes on OUR air craft carriers!!!!!
@milkymum1 And only enough navy to have one of the two aircraft carriers at sea at a time
milkymum1 · 31-35, F
@johnbgood Well that's the austerity under the Tories.
bhatjc · 46-50, M
Just lost them in the house of parliament. and have them play thunder dome
