Brexit the shambles rolls on

SO here we are the democratic vote in Parliament and the Tories decide to scrap the vote because they were going to lose the vote, so much for democracy in OUR country.

This is yet again the Tories saying we want democracy but ONLY if we like it.

Not ONLY this but May cancelled the leaders debate so she didn't have to face the Labour leader but more importantly the people she's meant to represent.

To me if you cant face the people or be held to question by the people you shouldn't be leader let alone the PM.

This is time for a GE

I couldn't agree more. This '0Government' is the most incompetent and shambolic I can remember and they have really messed things up for the country; with greater damage to come through.

A word of warning though; A GE probably won't solve the Brexit crisis either. The Tories have wasted two years doing nothing and its really late in the day for a new Government to negotiate a deal. The EU has all the power and Corbyn may be able to change some things but not a lot. I say this as a Corbynista and as a Labour Party member.

We need a general election and also another referendum. I know there are problems with this too but all the options are bad.

@Burnley123 Yes that is so true by far the worst government in my memory and even make Gordon Brown look good ( that takes some doing)

Yes the ideology of Boris and co have ruined us for decades.

Well it might help as the EU 27 have said they would extend our negotiations if we had a different government.

Well the EU 27 always had the power in this and for all the so called cards we hold what where they other than money, we walk away, go and stamp our feet in the cornet resign then say what they would do.

Yes that's true but unfortunately the Tories won't as its not in thier interest to have another referendum or GE.

@milkymum1 I think they might have to. Parliament is currently dysfunctional and something has to give.

@Burnley123 Yes it is, it was after the last GE but May bough the DUP and for what.

The ONLY thing that would trigger it is if May and her cabinet are found incontinent of parliament.

But what I find so hard to understand how many MPs think we can go back and renegotiate under May.

@milkymum1
May and her cabinet are found incontinent of parliament.
Is that a typo or a Freudian slip? 😂👍

Honestly, God knows what will happen now.

@Burnley123 OOOPSSSS yes in contempt of Parliament.

I know but that would force a referendum or GE.

@milkymum1 The Government already got voted in contempt of Parliament by refusing to release legal info about the backstop before the vote. The Fixed-Term Parliament act means that two-thirds of MPs must vote for a GE. That happened in 2017. The Tories don't want that but like I say there is no obvious way for them to get out of this mess and something will have to give. There are four things that could happen:

1) MPs vote through May's deal.
2) GE
3) 2nd Ref
4) No-deal Brexit

Each one of these is 'impossible' but one of them will have to happen.

@Burnley123 Oh yes they did didn't they.

Yes that is the only way out of a Tory made mess

I think its now down to the opposition parties and the Tories who have a conscious.
