Is the MeToo movement becoming a form of mass hysteria?

I'm thinking specifically of the extreme reactions to someone being accused of something as vague as "misconduct". The unproven accusations come, so it's time to completely destroy all memory and cultural presence of that person. It sure seems a bit like mass hysteria to me.

I think men have been abusing women far to long from domestic violence to groping a woman’s you-know-what. It’s time for men to realize that sexual harassment against women should stop. And men should stand up and say it’s wrong. That’s all I have to say.

The MeToo movement is now being shamelessly exploited by both rapacious political parties, who wish to disembowel their opponents by any means necessary. Using women, who have been assaulted or attacked, is just another tool in their toolbox.

The mass hysteria component you address is simply the same mindless parroting and stupidity combined with emotionalism that occurs every time some a-hole on CNN or in the womens movement spouts off a repeatable line or talking point, on almost ANY subject that furthers the interests of the left wing democrat socialist party.

I don't think it's the specific MeToo movement so much as the nature of people. It's why news stories show up in the media as bombshells - causing mass hysteria - and then simply disappear the next week. We have a tendency to over do it on literally everything.
Only to be brought out and dusted off for republican hit jobs.. happy to turn a blind eye to comrades mis treating women...

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Al Franken wasn't a Republican. Nor was Weinstein. He was a Jewish Democrat.

I don't think it's just Republicans. They're not even all men; there was a woman running for office who canceled her campaign after a man accused her of misconduct.
At the same time kavenaugh was been raped.. the me too movement gave the Dem who was charged with beating his wife a free pass. A few weeks later creepy porn lawyer get charged for domestic violence.. where was the me too muppets?

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout There's definitely some hypocrisy about it, no doubt.

No, far from mass hysteria. It lost some steam when the woman that started it was herself accused of sexual misconduct.
The Kavanaugh case proved it still needs evidence
You're right. It's misused and has become a tool for the bullies and naysayers.

Some days I could turn in my 'M' card, listening to you sniveling incels. Care to give us an objective, provable example of your ...

@hlpflwthat Please don't call me an incel. I hate incels and have nothing to do with them or any MRA crap.

I'm simply saying that a person, especially a famous one, is turned against by the public before anything is actually proven. It's the court of the public opinion. It happens for all kinds of transgressions, but the MeToo has brought sexual transgressions against women into the forefront. A person is tried and convicted before any evidence even comes to light. Not to mention the political opportunism of it all.

More strawman. I gave you an opportunity to prove your point and you got nothing. But lemme help you out - the most common 'example' of this nonsense is mentioned a few times here. His 'trial and conviction' landed him on the SCOTUS. Not exactly the persecution of the picture you paint.

Character & dignity matter to a great many of us. If you are going to speak out against the notion that women should come forth after being sexually harassed & assaulted, use some fact and substance - instead of vague generalities and platitudes. Cuz that's what incels do.

I apologize for calling you that.
