Remain/Brexit & Liberal/Conservative

In both the UK and The US there seems a massive divide on both sides. It seems in both countries there is more enthusiasm for attacking the opposite side rather than trying to make our situations work. Is there a way to work together for the better of the country or have we passed the point of no return?

We're past the point of no return in the US. I hope it does not become violent.

Maxine Waters flat out said to attack anyone in the Trump administration. Protestors are paid bonuses for getting arrested. Many Dems support Antifa and black lives matter. Both advocate killing police@SW-User

@SW-User Indeed -- but I don't think every issue has another reasonable side. Tax rates, sure. Many regulations, sure. Trump's child separation policy? Sorry, reasonable minds cannot differ on that.
SW-User
@AnneHoney I wish you well, but I don't think we have much to discuss.
Until "agendas" can be put aside and each differing party hear the other side's view(s), nothing will be accomplished. The U.S. has become a very polarized political battlefield, and the canon fodder are the American people, and I don't think our "leaders" really care, as long as their agenda(s) are met. Just my opinion!

@soar2newhighs it's almost as if nobody wants to concede any ground or come to a compromise. They seems to be an unwillingness to accept that either side can have good ideas.

Politicians are only in it for themselves! They don't give a flying fcuk about us plebs that they are supposed to represent!! And they certainly don't care about democracy (Brexit and the pathetic remoaners being the perfect example!)
SW-User
@KatyB this is the kind of thing I mean. I'm a remoaner I don't believe we should have another referendum but did you vote for what we are getting now?

This is the point of my question rather than attack each other ideologies how could we come together and make something like Brexit work?
KatyB · F
@SW-User I'm too young to vote, but I would've voted for a full on, no deal Brexit. Get us the fcuk out of the EU! But I agree, once the public have spoken, all sides should work together to make it work, not plot behind the scenes to frustrate it. All they are doing is weakening our negotiating position...

There is money in conflict. It cost Chuck Shumur millions letting the confirmation go through. Politics now is like a court case now. Doesn’t matter what the facts are. Doesn’t matter what is best for the country, you have to do anything to win for the people paying you.

I think you can still listen to one side and still stridently support the other. I'm a Corbyn supporter
KatyB · F
@Burnley123 Bless ya. Someone has to believe that lying communist scumbag and his magical money tree!
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
There is a way. But, it takes leadership on a level that requires more divine intervention. Short of that and until that happens, humans will be content to choose sides and celebrate.

Workingtogether is over rated. The less the politicians do, the better off we all are.
Tell you what-If the American people could easily reduce the terms of office for these deadbeats and hangers on and drastically reduce the salaries these politicians make, as quickly as they shove their policies and legislation down our throats, you'd see the bastards come together...they're out for themselves, not us!
