Remain/Brexit & Liberal/Conservative

In both the UK and The US there seems a massive divide on both sides. It seems in both countries there is more enthusiasm for attacking the opposite side rather than trying to make our situations work. Is there a way to work together for the better of the country or have we passed the point of no return?

We're past the point of no return in the US. I hope it does not become violent.

@SW-User from the outside looking in it certainly seems this way. Even if Trump done something really good I don't think the left would give credit and vice versa Trump could say the worse thing and his electorate would excuse it.

One congressman already shot, yet the Dems are still stoking the flames of violence. Someone will die and some will celebrate. It has gotten that bad. When people get in their face and yell they should taser them.@SW-User

@AnneHoney if I were a US citizen I'd fall more to the left however, some of the behaviour of democratic politicians has been poor. I can see a scenario where liberals would "celebrate" a tragedy but the right are more than capable of the same.

Clearly serious errors in judgement on both sides. However, the Dems have decided to try and use mob violence as their tool.they need to condemn this behavior instead of supporting bullying and hate. But when millions are at stack, decency goes out the window.@SW-User

@SW-User That's not entirely true about giving credit insofar as there is context. The left in my circle acknowledges that deregulation could create more jobs, but may not think the environmental impact is worth it. Certainly this would be the case for coal. Many on the left gave him credit for the North Korea meeting itself, but the details not so much. I thought the Syria strike was a good idea.

@AnneHoney The Democratic party is not using mob violence, and if this is really your opinion there is nothing left to discuss. Antifa is leftist -- it is not the Democratic party.

I’ve never heard the left give him any credit for anything. Many regulations that were removed were duplicates, setting up multiple agencies to accomplish the same goal. Most of the hundreds of removed regulations have nothing to do with pollution.@SW-User

@SW-User I'm not saying everyone has a polarised view but a lot do and a lot of influencial people do including the media. I like to think I have my "side" but can praise and accept ideas from the other side.

Maxine Waters flat out said to attack anyone in the Trump administration. Protestors are paid bonuses for getting arrested. Many Dems support Antifa and black lives matter. Both advocate killing police@SW-User

@SW-User Indeed -- but I don't think every issue has another reasonable side. Tax rates, sure. Many regulations, sure. Trump's child separation policy? Sorry, reasonable minds cannot differ on that.

@AnneHoney I wish you well, but I don't think we have much to discuss.
