I have to laugh at all of the hypocrite football players protesting the National anthem

If they really cared than why were they not speaking out during the off season?

Pretty sure alot have-ALL over the internet(you should check it out)...they just weren't on the TV channel and you weren't watching. Just because you're ignorant doesn't mean they are hypocrites or attention whores.

Now I get that historically, no civil rights protest has ever been "popular" to a "majority" Usually protesting means you get scoffed at, harrassed, etc...

Preaching nonviolence got MLK harassed and assasinated. Just what is so threatening about someone taking a knee? It's perfectly nonviolent. Soldier's might even take a knee at the grave of one of their brothers instead of standing as is "proper"...how is this any different? It's not.

From outright rebellion to warm and fuzzy protests, seems Trump and his Trumpettes just can't be ok with anything. What kind of protest is acceptable to such fucking privileged white Americans anyway? I think the rest of the world would really like to know.

Actually...
It’s almost as if the manner of protest isn’t the real problem.

What do you care enough about to kneel over I wonder?

How do you know they weren't? And since when have we looked to professional sports players as the moral compass of our nation?

I don't give a damn if they stand for the anthem or breakdance during it. I'd prefer them not to beat and assault their wives and girlfriends and get away with crimes that would send you or me to prison for the next 10 years.
@Graylight agreed. That's why the supposed protest is bullshit

@Harley4Life It's my job.
@MarkPaul you finally admit you are a troll.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Harley4Life I'm talking about you. And, everyone knew you were all along. So...
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
That's inconsistency, not hypocrisy.

And at any rate, what pisses me off is how many people condemn violent protest like riots and destructive behavior during demonstrations, then proceed to talk shit about the football players kneeling. I mean, what could possibly be less violent of a form of protest than that?

Exactly. Any one of them can get his message out if he calls a member of the media so why haven't they. I'd think that's exactly what they'd do IF their real objective was to get the message out or start a dialogue. Obviously, they have a different objective and it seems to have something to do with insulting the very ones who make them what they are. They'd better be careful or they will have no fans and that means no big salary.

That really pisses me off.

They are disrespectful twats.

Because most of them speak like fourth-grade children
GJOFJ3 · 61-69, M
The whole anthem protest issue could be solved without a problem. Just let the players do whatever they want stand sit kneel. Just keep the cameras off of them.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@GJOFJ3 they want attention...i would make them kneel in the shower stall. not in front of an audience
Graylight · 51-55, F
@GJOFJ3 And funny, that's what they used to do with the exception of big playoff games and the Super Bowl. The national anthem isn't regularly televised. Until now.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
Maybe they did, but nobody pays attention during the off season.
akindheart · 61-69, F
Because they have an audience that is why.
