What will the outcome of Muellers’ investigation be?

Graylight · 51-55, F Best Comment
Hard to say just yet, and I think Mueller is keeping some cards very close to the vest, but I think the outcome is irrelevant.

That such investigation is warranted - and according to the courts, it is - is deeply concerning. Everyone wants to nit-pick and pretend this investigation is some kind of obstacle field in which the runner wins if they don't touch certain points, but taken as a whole, this is a deplorable situation for the US government to find itself in. Rarely, if ever, has there been amassed an administration with more allegations of inappropriate affiliations, questionable histories and suspicious actions as this one. That anyone is defending the collective mud pit that the WH has become is disturbing on a level that's hard to describe.

And what will come of it? Decades of mistrust of the media and any informational outlet, exponentially more suspicion of politics and government, a bar lowered nearly to the ground for acceptable candidates and officials, a hangover of incivility and racism that puts us back in the mid-20th century...

I saw an interview with Carl Bernstein yesterday in which he noted that the difference with this investigation and the Nixon debacle was that once it was fairly clear what was going on, Republicans had the fortitude and integrity to call their president on it and urge resignation. Today, they'll ride the coattails until the clothing disintegrates.

More cost to the taxpayers
WoodyAq · M
@SW-User Yeah. The outcome will be that Trump won't be president. Think of the savings!
@SW-User everything is relative now!!!!
SW-User
@Shewolfiie69 Indeed

The truth will come out.
Of course, the truth won't resonate with all. They've been well trained.
My prediction as the noose tightens, and his kid and Kushner face their days in court, is that he'll resign instead of facing the music. He'll blame everyone and everything without taking personal responsibility which will give his minions something to hang on to in their never ending need to feel persecuted.
Of course, once Trump walks out the door the 'real American's are dead to him. They will have served their purpose.

who knows ,but the fact the President wants it to end
and he was so buddy with someone there is clear proof meddled in our elections
and Jr has admitted to trying to get dirt on Hillery from Russia .?????
I am still wondering why Comey threw himself on his sword
I can't believe he reached that position by being that openly stupid ...

I have seen to many shell games ,smoke and mirrors and misdirection to buy all this
I am all for letting it run its coarse ,or end it like Nixon
and open an even bigger can of worms

I don't think trying to end it would end well for anyone
Let the man Donald once said was a man of high integrity do his job
,,or look more like there is something to hide now that the presidents fix it man is on trial ,saying he has recordings

The more people meddle with Muller ,who is not getting indictments on his looks
the more guilty they look to me
but I am all for justice ,if she is truly bind ,Justice will prevail
MasterLee · 56-60, M
@rckt148 they are not investigating the crooks
rckt148 · 61-69, M
@MasterLee this is the thing that has EVERYONE so nervous
he is not saying who he is looking at ,
but everyone who he speaks to ,well they don't fair so well ,he is good at finding the truth ,and getting people to make deals to save their own butts .

When you always tell the truth ,you have nothing to hide
nothing to bite you in the butt
and if you mean Hillery
I am wondering how we went to war with the wrong country and the people responsible for that are not war criminals

but that is the sad fact about Americans ,,they stick by their teams
even when its clear ,they support a losing team

And I am in NO WAY calling Trump the losing team ,,but I am concerned about his trying to stop the truth from coming out

I understand what "Back Channel means "
how its accomplished ,who has to be involved for it to be legal
most Americans don't
so they do not even understand ,,part of the truth was leaked already
now its just up to proving he knew ,and if you know how it works
there is no way he didn't know
and Putin ,he is not to be taken lightly
He is a threat ,like Saddam ,he will kill his own people just to make a point

A few convictions for crimes which had nothing to do with a Russian Trump conspiracy is my guess.
WoodyAq · M
@jackjjackson Bringing me back to my original question: you are a smart guy; how are you not getting this?
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
No elected president has ever been removed from office ONE (Nixon) resigned. Too many unlikely events have to occur for the haters to get the red meat they seek. @WoodyAq
WoodyAq · M
@jackjjackson The red meat is already there. Nixon resigned just ahead of charges that look very similar to what Trump will face, except that Nixon may not have known as much of the details as Trump did, and G. Gordon Liddy did the break-in instead of the KGB. So Nixon, but with an added layer of treasonous conduct.

But the law on this is clear, and the evidence is there.

Whether or not the Congress decides to follow the law or follow Trump, I don't know.

However, if it decides not to uphold the constitution, it's a decision that will have large ramifications for the country for the future.

Other countries have faced similar choices, and made the wrong one. It has never worked out well.

If it's allowed to continue, hopefully justice

From the letter appointing Mueller Special Prosecutor:
The Special Counsel is authorized to conduct the investigation confirmed by then-FBI Director James 8. Corney in testimony before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence on March 20, 2017, including:

(i) any links and/or coordination bet ween the Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump; and

(ii) any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation; and

(iii) any other matters within the scope of 28 C.F.R. § 600.4(a).
The smoke screen, from the President, and his disciples, is that the investigation has not proved collusion, therefore, it must be stopped.

This ignores the following:

1. Article (ii)

2. Opening paragraph: Comey's testimony. Ironically, Nunes, asked a lot of the questions, that gives Mueller the authority to dig just about anywhere he's been digging.

3. The fact that the investigation is not over, and practically nothing leaked from his side. Turned out, the only leak came from Giuliani.

At this point, we can all guess. What this investigation has produced so far, is a President, who is so obsessed with the subject, he tweets about it, gives speeches about it, and includes it in responses to just about any question, he gives to questions, during joint press conferences with foreign leaders.

His disciples, simply repeat whatever he says.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
They'll lay the blame at the feet of these mysteriously missing yet conveniently indicted Russians; The whole server thing will be given to one of the Presidents chosen home security people to 'beef up security'. Donald Jnr will get a slap on the wrist and told to pick his friends more carefully in the future; and they'll say the President had no dealings with or prior knowledge of any of the things under investigation.

Because anything less will demonstrate that American elections are as buy-able as anything else in America.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
I agree. That will be about it. It is fizzle out to thst after a total of 18-24 months and millions of dollars. @Picklebobble2
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@jackjjackson As long as people 'Buy it'. For my two-pennorth i think it very clearly demonstrates how 'un-transparent' the whole process is and probably shouldn't be.
I think the rest of the world is laughing at how two such people became their countries choice of candidate of President, and how easily either could/can be manipulated. And there needs to be an official procedure should the President ever be 'suspected' of any wrongdoing because while he's laughing in front of his braying supporters it gives the impression that he's getting away with something.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
You have to admit that the moniker “sleepin Bob” is funny and accurate. @Picklebobble2

plungesponge · 41-45, M
Yes. Pubic.
TexChik · F
Oh he was always going to find something to charge Trump with .., we’ve always known that , and right before the election . Otherwise the libs will be investigated and they will be exposed .
@TexChik exactly. The leftist media is leakier than a poor fitting diaper. If there was anything of substance on Trump, we would have heard about it by now.

Instead, the left is planning to build the drama and then drop the nothing burger bomb right before November.

The nothing burger bomb will make liberals go crazy calling for Trump's head in hopes of getting control of the House and Senate. If they do, Trump will be impeached.

Trump needs to call out Mueller now, publically, and have Mueller show the American people evidence. Put up or shut up. Again, the libs will go nuts, but Mueller's got nothing. Time to expose the truth.

If they do, one half of the country will learn what the other half already knows. The are two justice systems in this country, one for Democrat politicians, and one for everyone else.
TexChik · F
@BizSuitStacy yes ... the constitutional crisis is here.

More expectation and pressure on the Republicans to do the right and responsible thing, which they will once again fail at doing.
UserNameSW · 46-50, M
He will disappear into the history books.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
The same as Comey’s substituting President for Mrs Clinton.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
I must have missed your report Woody what is today’s present danger? @WoodyAq
@WoodyAq Hurray for you! Thank you for putting this into prospection! Country before party!!!
WoodyAq · M
@jackjjackson Russians actively trying to undermine American institutions.

I swear, you and Trump seem to be the only people in the country who are unaware of this ...
MasterLee · 56-60, M
It is just for whining. Nothing will come if it. Was designed to create a sense of purpose but only be a thorn.

Trump will be convicted of treason and executed.

Indictments for Kushner and Don Jr. and others.

A report to Congress , which may or may not be consequential.

Ongoing criminal investigations into the President , his family and the Trump Organization.

One way or another this will eventually catch up with him.

I don't know.
Full on civil war. Russia and China step in to the void to enslave the known world with Nazi style death camps.
