If the Russians hacked the Hillary server (there is no evidence of it) they were doing so because Hillary's server was unsecured.

@carsonfry
If Trump really wanted to convict her he could.
Actually no he couldn't, He's neither a court, judge nor jury. That isn't how it works (yet) in the USA...
He could also end this investigation on him with the Russians with an executive order.
No he couldn't, and why would he if he's innocent?
But he is holding back because he knows he is innocent, and it would be better to let it go on and let those stooges keep exposing themselves.
If you say so...That will be why so far there are several guilty pleas, indictments, ongoing and continuing investigations..

What I meant is that Trump could instruct his Attorney General to look into the Hillary case, but he does not. He said on inauguration day, that he thought she suffered enough, and he did not want to put any more burden on her.
He could end the Russian probe instantly. He has the power. THe Department of Justice was created by Congress and only has power because of Congress and is obligated by Congress to be submissive to Congress. Trump has the power from the Executive branch to end any thing the DOJ is doing.
But he has not. He is letting them all hang themselves. A very smart move. One Jesus would make.

Funny that because when Jeff Sessions was asked that specific question, he replied that she wasn't suspected of anything to bring an investigation. Presumably yoy want to jump straight to a guilty verdict and circumvent the bit before?

He also said he had the biggest crowds in history, that was bollox too.

Well if you love a dictatorship, go ahead...

I'm an atheist but to compare Christ favourably with Trump is somewhat an insult to Christ. The difference I suppose Trump would compare crowd sizes and mock Christ for being a foreigner, Christ would tell Trump he was forgiven for being an asshole.

Fake coincidence!

That part is also psyops, a creative sort of hedging.
Notice that the Russians succeeded twice here. First, by actually having a measurable impact on how things turned out, and secondly, by throwing more doubt and confusion into the situation long after the election. It's still paying dividends! Some analyst watched that speech, and realized that if there was ever any time to authorize a hack, this was it - great instincts and initiative. Two years after all of this, a bunch of people are going "same day? wow". And even their tactics are, in the end, an attack on anonymity and free speech on the internet - astrotrufing has been around for a long time, but rarely has it been so overt and destructive.
What an operation.

@QuixoticSoul I think Trump himself could have made it far less devastating by leading an investigation and crafting a robust, strategic response.
He didn't do it, of course. He's either too dumb or too guilty. I can't figure out which.

... Are we still rehashing 2016?
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
@WoodyAq Tell that to the Electoral College, the Electoral winner-take-all system, and the voters themselves.
Yes, it was unfair what happened to Clinton, but the race shouldn't have been that close to begin with.
She messed up. Bigly.

@GeistInTheMachine That can be true, and it also can be true that Russia committed a major act of espionage against the US. At the same time.
Sorry, one does not cancel out the other. And we still have to take attacks on the US by foreign powers seriously.

@WoodyAq Yup. But good luck with that under the present system, and present administration.
You can't keep the same dysfunctional system and expect different results.

Yeah. The Russkieys tried to Hack the Republicans but failed. It was a low tech hack. All they did was use phishing attacks.
WoodyAq · M
@HoraceGreenley No. But other things can be. And we should make an effort to protect ourselves against foreign governments attempting to do so.
That sounds like common sense to me. Why the Republicans can't grasp it is a mystery.

@WoodyAq That's why 12 Russians were indicted. We don't want the meddling.
WoodyAq · M
@HoraceGreenley Trump apparently does, and so do the Republicans. That's why they are so desperate to shut this investigation down.

seriously what kind of a fucktard can believe in this bullshit?

Yeah, you would think someone with so much practice being sneaky would be better at it.
WoodyAq · M
@NorthernBear They are sneaky, but they are also bureaucratic...
carsonfry · 22-25, M
It is apparent our government is not good enough to do it.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
It's no proof of collusion, but damn is it funny.
WoodyAq · M
@QuixoticSoul Not proof, certainly. And probably coincidental. But, as you say, funny ...
