I mean, couldn't he at least just pretend to know stuff?

So that we don't look like complete idiots for making him President? 🤦
"Wrong Justin": Donald Trump just bragged about making up facts during trade talk with Trudeau.

This whole incident proves that he thinks facts are something to be made up when you need them, and that lying is standard operating procedure. Not only does it not bother him to lie, he actually boasts about it! This is what our country has fallen to. The rest of the world is laughing, watching, and rooting for us to fail for electing such an abomination.

We are already the laughing stalk of the world for letting the electoral collage put him in office, goes to prove that your vote really doesn't count

It’s a little early to be talking about history Trebek 😉 @WoodyAq

He pretends to know, not just stuff, but that facts don't matter if he doesn't like them. If he started to show respect for truth and democracy at this point, where would it get him? He'd risk losing his base, alienate all the Republicans who've put their necks on the line to cover for him, and make it really hard to stay in office.

He needs to keep lying, and to keep bragging about it for awhile longer. I'm sure he'll wink and shrug in the end, because he's been relatively "honest" about being a fraud all along, really.
Isn't this just par for the course? He's been making shit up since he started running.

Although i suppose he doesn't often brag about it. And this was with the prime minister of freakin canada. Now that i think of it, what the actual fuck is wrong with this guy?!😨

And where are all the usual suspects who will defend whatever trump does or says as a tremendous victory? Noticeably absent in this thread...
@Pikachu it's early and Hannity hasn't told them what to say yet. Plus, it's been a bad week for Trump and it's still Thursday.

I do smell a subpoena from Mueller, at least, in the wind.
@MistyCee

lol true. This particular embarrassment is still young. Must give it time to mature.
@Pikachu damn. There is a subpoena.
I found out about this watching the press conference today. It sort of blew my mind. Largely because I saw Sanders defend it-- then I heard Trump bragging that he just made it up.

I mean if Sanders didn't defend it, Trump could have just written it off as balls. Which would have been bad in another way. The POTUS should know....

But this.

Information he had to have known would be almost immediately checked.

That shows not only a willingness and awareness of lying, it's an indication Trump either thinks he's clever or is stupid enough to believe that's how lasting change is accomplished.
Graylight · 51-55, F
It shows his woeful lack of even basic world knowledge. For a man "really interested" and well-studied in trade matters, this makes him look like a 3rd grade moron.

And if he thinks bragging about lying boldly and carelessly to a head of state is a good idea right before going into interviews with Mueller, I can't wait for the main event.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
starting to wonder whether Mr.T. and Dubya are golfing buddies.
WoodyAq · M
@Picklebobble2 nah. W is a philosopher king next to Trump.

Trump only golfs with people he can bully.
