I will go to my aunt's funeral. I plan to wear black shorts which are not too short, just above the knees. My mom says it is inappropriate to wear shorts at a funeral. What do you think?

I liked her, she was a nice person, just we weren't close to each other. She was a chain-smoker. Knowing that her father (my grandfather) died at 45 from lung cancer after having chain smoked for 30 years.
