I will go to my aunt's funeral. I plan to wear black shorts which are not too short, just above the knees. My mom says it is inappropriate to wear shorts at a funeral. What do you think?

Thank you all for your answers. I think it might be better if I go for a skirt, I have a dark grey one, it is not a mini skirt, it goes above my knees.
