Hello. This is a spider appreciation post.

This is a female Neoscona crucifera that built her [orb] web across the stairs on my front porch last fall. She eventually took it down and angled it slightly so I could just squeeze through the staircase without breaking it, and she didn't mind me getting in her face for a good picture. 💕

amazing picture, you have a real talent for photography, is this the only picture you have of it? I would love to see more

Here are the other two! The one with the white background (a ripped off cover of a spiral notebook, I believe) was a bit experimental, but I like how it turned out overall. The silhouette one is my favorite, even though it was an accident.

@BigAssLeech really nice, its cool to see it handling the web with its claws, thanks for sharing

@reflectingmonkey Thanks for taking an interest in them! It's super cheesy, but not many people ever ask to see more of my insect/arachnid photography... usually the opposite. 😬
I’m scared of spiders. I like Lucas the spider though. 🤓🕷

@MsAnnThropy Lucas is modeled off of a jumping spider! He's (technically she, because, well, spider biology) is very real!
I love to have little interactions with the tiny creatures.
What's her name? 😍
BigAssLeech · 31-35, M
@Snowvixen I didn't even think to name her, I just referred to her as her Latin name until she eventually wandered off! But she was my little greeter for a few days when I would come home from work.
@BigAssLeech aw her name should be like neo or something. That's so cute. 😁
