I Like Nietzsche

"The times of corruption are those when the apples fall from the tree: i mean the individuals, for they carry the seeds of the future and are the authors of the spiritual colonization and origin of new states and communities. Corruption is merely a nasty word for the autumn of a people" ~ some "Joyful Wisdom" from page 98 :)

I think he understood prose better than the meaning of corruption. Corruption is about inefficiency. And his understanding of recurrence was really weak too.

@LucyRocks: Maybe the hollow version of it.

@DreamTinker: Not really. It's a question of one reality versus infinite realities. Absolute truth is only solvable if we properly interpret individual realities and preferences as personal experience. This is a philosophical stumbling block for the novice.

@LucyRocks: Its also a way to start sounding like a machine:)

I can tell it's a powerful quote, I just have to read it through a couple more times.

@DreamTinker: good to know. I guess I don't understand "the autumn of people".
SW-User
@rottenrobi: Peoples and cultures as experiencing a cycle, Spring as in the beginning, autumn the death.... a concept Oswald Spengler developed much further in his Decline of the West which was a bestseller just before WWII.

I'm struggling through some Nietzsche myself lol
SW-User
He shouldn't be a struggle, ... well yes, there are times like that:)

No he requires concentration, which I don't have in my crazy house
SW-User
@JimboSaturn: I've got concentration problems too, what can help is some soothing classical music:)

I wonder if our autumn has finally arrived or we live our late summer yet

Things are changing, how soon a big change will be noticed might be longer than one's gut instincts say.
