What's up?
Nightfury1996 · 26-30, M
@Notanymore my dad isn't enforcing rules on my adopted little brother, like he does me and my birth little brother.

Oh dear.....are you Christian?
Nightfury1996 · 26-30, M
@Notanymore Baptist I think. But it just hurts my feelings that he does that.
Notanymore · 41-45, M
I understand.....are you familiar with the parable of the prodigal son?
Nightfury1996 · 26-30, M
@Notanymore no I am not

I probably need a preacher or a good Christian to help me with this.....but I'll try....
A man has two sons....one loyal....and dedicated....one with a wanderlust....not a bad son, but certainly not one to stay home and honor his father.
So he leaves and runs into hard times....he waste all of his father's blessings and has to return downtrodden.
The father, a man of God, who could easily dismiss him, welcomes him back with an open heart and a great feast.
This upsets the more loyal son because he has always been faithful and loyal.
The father explains and I believe the essence of the story is that the first son has always been faithful, and always known his father's love, while the prodigal has left and been removed from his on blessings. The celebrations is not just for his return but to show him the love that he's been without.
Has your adopted brother been as fortunate in life as you have?

@Notanymore no my adopted little brother has had a terrible life before my mom and dad adopted him.
Notanymore · 41-45, M
Then it's possible that he's being shown an unfair amount of love because he's been without for so long. I don't know much about your situation. But it seems like your father may be a good man. Is it possible that everyone could benefit if you were supportive of him and your brother and put you own effort forward to make him feel welcome?
Nightfury1996 · 26-30, M
@Notanymore I know
Nightfury1996 · 26-30, M
@Notanymore I feel terrible now, because I hurt my dad's feelings asking him about it.
Notanymore · 41-45, M
There's no reason to feel horrible....you had a question....you asked it. When you get your answers that you feel good about, you can know how to handle it
