I've Come To Realize That Blood Doesn't Make A Family

She came into this family as a foster child but we've had her since birth. At the age of one, she was officially adopted into the family. She's my Aunt's daughter but she feels more like a little sister to me. She's the most beautiful and loving child I know. How her mother could choose drugs and a life of crime over her child I will never understand.
I'm so glad you have her. Sorry your sister has so much pain that she needed to resort to drugs and crime. I hope she gets the help she needs.

So True.. My wife was adopted and those who raised her were her real mother and father in every sense that counted. Biology means little in the human experience.

Well sorry to point this out but if her mom did not do what she did well you would not have a little sister.

@updown2020 I get that. I understand that because of what she did I do have one. I just don't quite understand how she doesn't want her in her life at all.

@BeautifulMess Well it probably the drugs that took over her life and she was to busy finding her next fix rather than looking after her child which she probably did not want in the first place. Drugs only get along with drugs the human factor has no play in it.

You are absolutely right, blood means nothing as far as what family is.
