I Avoid Talking Politics

Although I generally vote Democrat, I don't like discussing politics. Today I was asked if Trump were the Democratic nominee, would I vote for him. Hell no!!! How did we ever get to a place in American politics where human beings are seriously discussing Donald Trump as presidential?

@TallJames - First of all, please note that I said I support Sanders and am disappointed that Hillary is the nominee. I have my own criticisms of her and won’t stick my neck out defending her. That said, she isn’t the one who has cheated ordinary people out of thousands dollars through fraud, nor is she woefully ignorant on virtually every political issue you care to name. The fact that she doesn’t drive a car (assuming that’s even true) is irrelevant. And what is this business about her laundering money? Where’s the evidence for that? What Bill does or has done is also irrelevant. She’s the one running for president this year, not him. I also wouldn’t casually dismiss the fact that she’s held the positions of U.S. Senator and Secretary of State. It means that she at least has some familiarity with how government works. I see zero evidence that the totally inexperienced Trump has the slightest clue about that.

Here’s a partial list of her accomplishments:

Successfully sought to increase research funding for prostate cancer and childhood asthma at the National Institutes of Health

Created the Office on Violence Against Women at the Department of Justice.

Helped create the Children’s Health Insurance Program, which cut the uninsured rate of American children by half.

Worked with members of both parties to provide full military health benefits to reservists and National Guard members.

Worked to expand the Family Medical Leave Act, allowing the families of those wounded in military service to take leave in order to care for their loved ones.

Initiated the Adoption and Safe Families Act.

Helped create Vital Voices, an international initiative to promote the participation of women in the political processes of their countries.

Helped secure $21 billion in funding for the World Trade Center site's redevelopment.
