You do realize that you do not HAVE to accept this from your parents? That you are (most likely) physically able to prevent your mother from doing this to you at your age? Regardless of how your parents might react or feel about it, if you are a healthy, physically normal sixteen-year-old, it should be within your power to just tell her "No" and not participate in this for as long as it takes until she gets the message that you are unwilling to be treated like someone who is one-third of your age.

Its not that easy to just up sticks and leave home or even lay charges against ones parents. I wouldn't want to do that anyway. My parents are as strict as Erik's but I accept their rules because I am their son and as such a boy. I have no illusions about what lays ahead until I reach at least 21.

Wtf? If someone hit me when I was 16, i would hit back, no matter if they were my parents. If they were real good parents they would know hitting a kid is the worst thing they could do to him anyway.

My parents believed that only the hairbrush and cane would work on me. They used them often so perhaps they were wrong. I hope your parents stop using them soon.
