How many parents use whippings these days?

As a child my mother belted me once, that was for disrespecting her. I've never been hit after that day. As a mother myself I would never turn to such disciplinary actions on my kids. A smack to the bottom once or twice but thats it.

It didn't work on me at all. It's just pain. It goes away. I dreaded things like restriction, and grounding.
So I probably wouldn't do it to my kids, if I were to fuck up and have kids.

Because it is used by weak parents who cannot instil discipline any other way
