How do you handle it if your parents are racist?

I am so sick of fighting with my mom, but at the same time I don't want to enable her racism by not calling her out on it. 😞
When I was a kid, a black family moved in next door to us. Their first night there, my dad stayed up,all night playing Hank Williams Sr. songs at full volume. He was a racist ass and didn't care Who knew it.

I just call out my family and make them feel dumb for even bringing that shit up, even if their opinions stay the same.

i think that's one of those ones that, pragmatically, you just have to learn to ignore.

I speak up. but it's no use.At least they know I dont agree with it.
my parents were not racist
and that is how I was brought up
a very close friend and his family are very racist
and I HATE THAT!
when they start going off it is painful
you know that type who know where to hurt you and they revel in your pain
the type you also find here on SW
My husband’s dad is really racist but it’s my call. I just avoid him like the plague. I don’t engaging in conversation with him at all.

@Spoiledbrat I'd love to avoid my mom but it's not possible right now.
I think it depends on your mom’s personality. Some people won’t want to hear it. @DearAmbellina2113

I'm not allowing it, not even in joke -- Windows will shatter if that happens in my home. Then again, racism, especially the one existing in USA, is practically nonexistent here.
Can't do much if they are....best show them examples from every day life to prove otherwise. Be careful though as they might harbor resentment....

I mean, it's their issue not yours. Can't really change people's opinions on things like that at a certain age.
