Why do they have to grow up so ridiculously fast?

My 17 year old daughter just told me and her mom that she and her boyfriend are having sex and they're being safe. She confessed after I overheard her blabbing to her best friend on the phone. I just went numb during that whole period and just didn't know what to say.

We always knew this day would come when she got the greenlight to start dating and even though her mom and I gave her "the talk" long ago, we're just heartbroken.

Dang! I can't get a grip of myself
