My parents used to say it gets stuck to the inside of your stomach lining and builds up and then has to be surgically removed if you swallow enough. I’ve also heard it takes 7 years to pass through your body. I don’t think it’s that dire if you swallow gum but I wouldn’t want to swallow rubber lol
