I'm learning to drive stick shift and I am having trouble

I'm learning to drive stick shift and think it's really difficult. My instructor is good but I don't think he likes me. I know when and how to shift gears, but it's hard for me to do so without making the car jump or something. I stall out a lot, especially at roundabouts and stuff which sucks. I SUCK at parking, my instructor makes me do it by myself while he stands elsewhere watching from a distance but it takes me a while and I am not very good. I've never driven before, only a little but not really, so starting with stick sucks.

If you can, practice with a diesel car, those cars won't stall if you just lift the clutch without accelerating (unless you're going uphill). That would be the best way to learn how to get used to the motions of shifting.
