I Am Queer

I'm not sure how many people know this, but the word, "Queer" was an archaic term that originally meant "strange," "bizarre," "unusual," "eccentric," and "unconventional."

That usage isn’t really archaic....it’s still in use, though less common than it was.
I’m queer....in more ways than one.

It's not really that old of a usage. When I was growing up, that's how I understood the word.

@DDonde I was under the impression that it was an archaic word.

I remember having once read this verse in an old poem that went: "My little horse must think it queer, to stop without a farm house near."

@Sidewinder I wonder if it's Archaic in North American English. I heard (read) it most in books written in Britain.
