I get your point but have you seen the latest developments of the US educational system? No, my kids would get a far better education at home. They would get one that fits them, not one that is aimed at Joe Average.
I think home schooling gives kids the possibility to be exposed to many more people and opinions than when they are stuck in the classroom of the same building with the same people everyday.
I wasn't home schooled either but I have a multi-cultural background. I moved 7 times to 4 countries and 2 states before the age of 17. And visited many more countries during this time. I can't imagine all I would have missed out on living in the same country going to the same school with the same people for 12 years.
