I Was Home Schooled

Well, not me, my kids. It worked for my odd work hours. I didn't want them to be latch key kids. Once the youngest was 11, they all teamed up on me and wanted to go to public school. They were are so smart for their ages. It worked out well

I did the same for my kids, for all or their schooling! My daughter went on to university and graduated with a near perfect GPA

My son graduated at 16, having completed his high school requirements, went on to join the US Marines and had to be signed in by me 3 days after turning 17, not old enough to vote, buy cigarettes, buy a gun, but given a semi-automatic and die for his country. He’s now a Sargent having served 10 years

While home schooling is not for every child or every family, it is quite often very successful. It was successful with our two now adult sons. Insofar as socialization was concerned, a "co-op" of fellow home-schooling families, which included people from all walks of life--university professors, medical doctors, taxidermists, nuclear power plant operators, and more--formed a very eclectic environment in which kids can thrive.

One mom, a theater major back when she was in college, produced "A Tale of Two Cities". It was on par with the local 30,000 population university's theatrical productions! But the cast consisted of kids from age 10-ish to 17... Same with the props manager and crew, and the tech crew.

I will reiterate the caveat that no, not all kids and families will be successful if they home school. But the vast, vast majority do succeed, and more.

@smileylovesgaming As I said there are plenty of social programs for home schooled kids, plus they are involved in sports, so their social level is pretty high
