I Want to Write More Hand-written Letters

There is something so beautiful about a hand written letter. Firstly it teaches us about patience rather than instant gratification. It inspires thoughts and feelings blending together, it ignites curiosity , anticipation there is no exact expressive feeling when one opens the mailbox and sees that envelope, marvelling at it. The built up excitement and wonderment at what words awaits you!
Opening it carefully and sliding that paper out, so foreign ,so nostalgic, slowly opening the folded paper, the crisp and crackling in your hands, makes me smile and my heart pound. My eyes roving over the page and then I begin my reading journey, instantly transporting me and that's just from the receivers side.
The writer is a masterful creator, inspiring imagination in the realms of fantasy, humour, romance.
But I think the most magical feeling that conveys is that someone took the time and effort to write; it's a rare gesture. It's a piece of themselves being sent out to you. It becomes more than penned words but more private and intimate. It makes us feel that extra special and cared about.

I completely agree with you. I can't remember the last time I received a hand witten letter.

A real shame. I love writing. Everything just pours out of my head when I do. I've found that if you're upset or trying to get through to someone, writing them a letter really helps because they have to read instead of listen to you talk.

@HannahSavannah The silence of spoken words sometimes speaks louder, and the written words bares more meaning, like a private conversation, and likely to open a start to a dialog..

I used to exchange hand writing letter with an online friend.. But she is not there anymore :(

@khaledkhaled sorry to hear that, maybe you will write again☺letters are like books no E reader can compare to pages, and textures of books. I think letters are more personal

I have scruffy hand writing though

Yeah but.......my computer has a built in spell check. I'm a bit dyslexic so I can't make the emotional investment of writing a long letter because its incredibly frustrating to realise I made a mistake right at the end.

you can still write something, even something short, it just has to have meaning to you or the person your giving it too. but instead of sending it through the web send by mail....like a card for example!

Ha....my mom received a birthday card yesterday and it had been opened by the thieving post men. I do understand the point you're trying to make though. Really I'm just hung up about how bad my hand writing is. Plus I'm so out if practice..... My wrist starts to ache embarrassingly easy if I write more than my shopping list. Also....I don't know classy people who would appreciate the art of penmanship.
