Are Hollywood blockbusters becoming stale?

All I am seeing are unnecessary reboots and prequels and sequels.

Movies cost so much to make now Hollywood is afraid to take chances. If you don't have the twelve-year-old audience, you lose.

They're formulaic for a reason. As long as people keep going to them, and the formula works, there's no reason to change them. It's about minimizing financial risk. They'll change when people stop supporting them.

Eh yeah they are. I gave up watching movies already several years ago.
