This may be a stupid observation but if spongebob is a sponge you would think he would just absorb all the water right?
Or at least get super bloated...... Gosh darn it.. Making me think of science in Spongebob.. ┬┴┬┴┤¬ᴥ¬ʔ

KindSoul24 · 22-25, F
[@961800,sonofsasquatch] yet in that one episode where spongebob stays at the krusty krab and squidward hallucinates him being in the bathtub with him and he goes under and he's in his squid form. How does he look like that but he's underwater all the time?

Dolimyte · 36-40, M
[@8367,meJess] yes, so do alkali metals, but that's a campfire.

[@1999,Dolimyte] wrong type of fire, but you're ok with the sponge wearing trousers?

I think sponges have a limit on how much they can absorb?

Why is the show called Spongebob Squarepants when everyone knows Patrick is the star :)
KindSoul24 · 22-25, F
[@8367,meJess] interesting observation my dear :)

Not to throw a wrench in your little fantasy but there are a lot of real sponges in the ocean. A sponge can only absorb so much water and the ocean is really, really big. Fill a bathtub and throw in a sponge. The sponge will absorb so much. The ocean is much bigger, and denser.
