As a kid, I liked westerns, war movies, and horror movies, the corny ones like "Them" and "Tarantula."
@exexec Ever see the movie Jarhead -- about a Marine in the Persian Gulf war? I loved that movie. It came out in 2005.

@flipper1966 No. I lost too many friends in Vietnam, so I don't watch war movies now.
@exexec Sorry to hear that.

@flipper1966 Thank you! They were all magical for me in one way or another.
@SW-User Isn't it terrific when that happens? That quality of magic?

@flipper1966 Yes :P

Not so much single movies as series I grew up watching on weekend TV:

ABBOTT AND COSTELLO
TARZAN
THE BOWERY BOYS
CHARLIE CHAN

And those week-long marathons on MILLION DOLLAR MOVIE of KING KONG, SON OF KONG, MIGHTY JOE YOUNG, RODAN, and GODZILLA.

The sound of music
Gilda
Showboat
And all the original Planet Of The Ape movies
Great movies. The ones I loved were:

1. Captain Blood (Errol Flynn)
2. The Adventures of Robin Hood (also with EF)
3. Jason and The Argonauts
4. West Side Story
5. Once Upon a Time in The West
6. The Godfather (I’d read the book)
7. 12 Angry Men
@bijouxbroussard I loved 4, 6 and 7. But I didn't see them when I was a kid. Great choices!
@flipper1966 I loved the Ray Harryhausen special efforts in Jason. I liked his Sinbad movies, too.
