Those are all very good movies, I'll agree. However, saying that 1994 was the best year in movie history is really pushing it. There have been plenty of years that have had better box office turnout and income than 1994.
I think this statement is more opinion than any specific measurable criteria.

@Reboot box office turnout & income are a terrible way to measure best anything, except best year to be a major movie studio perhaps
Reboot · 46-50, M
@firefall So based on that it's all speculation and opinion. Unless you want to use a different form of measurement. Awards, etc.
LadyJedi · 36-40, F
@Reboot of course you cant scientifically measure a best year in anything.. its an opinion i hold onto until someone comes up with a good point why another year was better
firefall · 61-69, M
@Reboot you say that as though it's dismissive - of COURSE it's opinion, quality isn't measurable in and of itself. That doesnt render it useless or valueless

@LadyJedi With a name like yours I would assume that 1977 would be the best. *points to his other post about the release of Star Wars*

@Reboot one good movie doesnt make a year the best year...
Reboot · 46-50, M
@LadyJedi But one movie that changed the entire genre can. :)

Point in fact, name one other movie that has changed how people look at a genre of movie the way Star Wars changed science-fiction.

@Reboot jurassic park, termiantor 2 for special effects...

kubricks 2001 for scifi....

lord of the rings for fantasy...

dirty harry for crime movies...

the good the bad and the ugly for western....

@LadyJedi Once again it all cycles back to opinion and I think I'll just leave this post alone. The "Dirty Harry" comment made me laugh though. Thanks for that. :)
