[@479586,DeineMutter] I tried to get The Room from the library. They don't have it but they do have the movie about it.

[@45528,hunkalove] I am so pissed that they don't show the movie about The Room in cinemas here >:(
LadyJedi · 41-45, F
[@479586,DeineMutter] the full movie in on youtube btw... it was voted to to be the worst movie of the last century
uncalled4 · 51-55, M
I remember it well.

firefall · 61-69, M
[@659884,LadyJedi] really. Especially Leon
Ynotisay · M
[@578538,djones] Oh...Pulp Fiction is REALLY good film making. As it Shawshank. An amazing story. REALLY well acted. Check 'em out.
Tex78 · 41-45, M
[@659884,LadyJedi] he never seen pulp fiction! 😂 go wake up the Gimp!
hunkalove · 61-69, M
It was a good year!

Good year.
I might go with 1977 though. Some different styles were ushered in.
(EDIT: These movies are from 1979)
- Alien
– All That Jazz
– Apocalypse Now
– Being There
– Breaking Away
– The Great Santini
– The Jerk
– Kramer vs. Kramer
– Meatballs
– Monty Python's Life of Bryan
– Norma Rae
– North Dallas Forty

[@324070,Ynotisay] Smokey and the bandit cam out in 1977 also
Ynotisay · M
[@578538,djones] That was '77. I screwed up and meant to write '79.
[@324070,Ynotisay] Between The Lines came out in 1977. It’s definitive to me, because it feels the way I remember the 1970s.
But best is quality not quantity, I don't know that those movies even added together are better than say Citizen Kane, Gone with the Wind, or the Godfather.
Jackaloftheazuresand · 22-25, M
[@8093,Subsumedpat] Ew. Two of those films are film hipster drivel
LadyJedi · 41-45, F
[@8093,Subsumedpat] not gonna argue that any movie is better then the godfather...

but more making a point about the year and how great and innovative hollywood was then.

now its only comic adaptions and part 2 .. 3.. 4... of whatever other movie
tiggerandariel13 · 41-45, M
other 1994 films with honors Speed and Beverly hills cop 3
Four Weddings and a Funeral, Legends of The Fall, The Crow...yes, a great year.
Reboot · 41-45, M
Those are all very good movies, I'll agree. However, saying that 1994 was the best year in movie history is really pushing it. There have been plenty of years that have had better box office turnout and income than 1994.
I think this statement is more opinion than any specific measurable criteria.

[@659884,LadyJedi] But one movie that changed the entire genre can. :)

Point in fact, name one other movie that has changed how people look at a genre of movie the way Star Wars changed science-fiction.
LadyJedi · 41-45, F
[@490715,Reboot] jurassic park, termiantor 2 for special effects...

kubricks 2001 for scifi....

lord of the rings for fantasy...

dirty harry for crime movies...

the good the bad and the ugly for western....
Reboot · 41-45, M
[@659884,LadyJedi] Once again it all cycles back to opinion and I think I'll just leave this post alone. The "Dirty Harry" comment made me laugh though. Thanks for that. :)

1977. Star Wars: A New Hope.

'nuff said.
