Star Trek Discovery Logic

*Site posts obviously bias paid for article praising the show for being the best thing ever*

Comments section is 90% negative posts, but not shitposts, legitimate negative reviews that people posted because they don't like any aspect of the show but wanted to because it's Star Trek.

I hate Discovery with ferocious passion. And it's made even worse because The Orville, a Star Trek spoof made by fucking Seth MacFarlane, is actually quite good.

@RoboChloe It's more Star Trek than Discovery could ever even imagine being xD it's hilarious lol

Seriously though, they didn't even look at what made Trek good...they just looked at other scifi shows and said "Huh, dark and gritty...that's cool right?"

It's not like Star Trek is SUPPOSED to be a utopian future, where sexism and racism are things of the past, petty squabbles are dealt with accordingly and everyone has an air of open mindedness and understanding.

Discovery respects nothing Gene Roddenberry created.

@Fangirlsarah1996 The worst thing about Discovery for me is the characters. Almost all of them are deeply unlikeable, and some of them are just plain evil. And not evil or unlikeable in an engaging way, but in a way where, when they die, my only reaction is mild relief at not having to deal with their bitchyness any longer. And I can't remember any of their names, either, because they're as boring as they are unlikeable.

@RoboChloe I think the only "good" one is the one Doug Jones plays...the first officer? (They're all hilariously forgettable as well lol)

But yh like 90% of the crew are just assholes for no reason, I mean even in the pilot, they were supposed to be crewmates for what...7 years? And she, the first officer is just cool with disobeying her captains orders, hell even attacking her...how the hell did she not get removed from Starfleet, let alone not even get demoted (This is of course before she commits warcrimes and murder)

Haven't seen it, but I am skeptical of it. Isn't on some pay-service anyway?
Fangirlsarah1996 · 26-30, F
@Xuan12 That goodwill that these upstarts have ignored.

Seriously, the easiest way to piss off your hardcore fans is to change literally everything about something, then try and sell it as that thing.

@Fangirlsarah1996 Kind of like the JJ Abrams movies in my opinion. Good in their own way, but really just using Star Trek as their setting, not really in the spirit of the franchise.
Fangirlsarah1996 · 26-30, F
@Xuan12 At least the JJ movies resemble Star Trek and seem like "That could happen" given the circumstances...Discovery literally ruins the lore at every turn.

I like Discovery, myself. Some of the criticisms are valid. Some are rather overblown. I think, however, Discovery will stand the test of time.

I think its a fairly decent show. And its good to see the franchise get its edge back once again. Star Trek lives.
