I Think Most Mainstream Music Is Too Simple

Now I'm not one of those snobs who bashes all mainstream and thinks I'm all cool and unique for listening to obscure or underground music. But a lot of mainstream music really is just so damn simplistic. It's comparable to most network television in that it's made for people who are easily impressed. It's meant to be that way, of course, but you can be simple and accessible for general audiences and not be so damn generic and bland like a lot of it is. There's plenty of [i]good[/i] mainstream music, but it very seldom ever gets as much attention as the simplistic crap that audiences always tend to favor for its accessibility. I guess you could say it's a reflection how dumb general audiences are. 🙄
