@helenS Self-confidence is the [i]belief [/i] that I can accomplish something. Doesn't make self-confidence a religion. Similarly the belief that God does not exist does not make atheism a religion.

@chilloutab2 I never said atheism is a religion. It's a [i]metaphysical[/i] statement.

Compare:
(a) "I believe that this is a German car." (you can verify)

(b) "I believe that God sent his son to save us all." (you can't verify)

(c) "I believe God does not exist." --- Can you verify?

Instead of being atheist it would make more sense to simply state: "There's no point in speaking about God. It makes no sense because there is no method to verify or falsify His/Her/Its existence."
