I've spent so many days like this - sitting alone with a smoke and a drink thinking of you. When you were so far away, but the closest thing on my mind. But here - now - I know that you are close by. As you have said, we have time. I would have waited for you until time stopped it's ceaseless march. To have you so close makes me happy.
In all of this - perhaps before I was in love with the you that I had known for years. But in the last few weeks, I have fallen in love - completely- with the you that you are now. I cannot tell you what either of us will be in the time to come, but I look forward to falling in love with every you that time will shape.
True love waits - in this, I was not speaking of your wait for me, but that I would have waited for as long as it would take. For you.
A beautiful story. Time changes us all. It is difficult to not grow apart from the people we used to love as this happens.
But what you are talking about; growing closer and loving harder as understanding of another grows... That is something rare. Something to be treasured.
