I Love Abandoned Places
I want to go to Pripyat. That's the town where the workers of Chernobyl lived. That's probably the ultimate abandoned place. Frozen life. Pompeii. Without the bodies. Sad beauty everywhere.
Some years ago, a couple buddies and I went down to the river and snuck into an abandoned power plant. Cracked windows. Fractured sunlight. Ghosts. We went to the employee's locker room. Bits of them everywhere. Time slips. Meeting minutes. Grocery lists. I left them undisturbed. They may need them.
